Figures published this week have suggested that roughly a quarter of al post-graduates studying at universities throughout the UK are Chinese students.
According to the latest figures, which have been compiled and published by the Higher Education Funding Council of England, 23 percent of post-graduates within UK universities are from China, whilst 26 percent are from the UK.
Of those post-graduates students from China studying within UK universities, the figures suggest that 47 percent are studying a business and management course; whilst 39 percent are studying engineering – with the figures further suggesting that UK universities are relying on Chinese students to fill course allocations.
Meanwhile, the latest data has also suggested that despite a drop in the number of international students at UK universities – as a result of a significant fall in post-graduates from India and Pakistan studying within the UK – 74 percent of students who started a masters during 2012 / 2013 within the UK are either European Union or international students.
