A report published earlier this month has revealed that a council in Wales made three personal injury claim payouts to the same claimant to settle a personal injury case, after the individual was injured whilst strimming grass.
According to the reports, the council employee suffered injuries after falling down a hole whilst strimming grass, with the council making personal injury payouts exceeding £70,000 to settle the case.
The case was one of 78 settled by the council during the last three financial years; with a Freedom of Information request revealing that during the period, in excess of £1,000,000 was paid out in personal injury claims by the council.
Of those claims settled, seven were for cuts and bruises suffered; 12 for injuries caused in handling and lifting accidents; and 26 following slips, trips and falls.
