Crash for Cash Claims Increase

Data released earlier this month (June) has revealed that over the last year, there has been a significant increase in the number of “crash for cash” claims.

“Crash for cash” claims involve a driver deliberately stopping in-front of an innocent road user, leaving them with no choice but to crash into them, as they do not have enough time to take decisive action.

According to the latest figures, released by a leading insurance firm, last year the number of “crash for cash” claims increased by 51 percent; with over 2,000 fraudulent claims being detected.

As a result, insurance firms are calling for stricter penalties for those found guilty of “crash for cash” scams.
