Mayor Calls for Immigration Changes

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson has this month insisted that the government should allow thousands of illegal immigrants living in the UK, become British citizens.

Previously, the Mayor of London backed an amnesty for illegal immigrants, whilst running his election campaign in 2008 to become Mayor of London; and now, in his latest comments he has once again supported the idea, saying that whilst an amnesty may act as a pull factor to new migrants, it was “crazy” to continue in the current form.

As such, the Mayor of London has called on the government to “regularise” those undocumented migrants who have been in the UK for more than ten years.

In addition to calling on the government to regularise undocumented migrants, the Mayor of London also launched his strongest attack, to date, on the government’s immigration and asylum policies.
