St Aidan’s and St Vincent’s were two of five homes at the centre of the litigation that became known as the “North West Child Abuse Cases”. The defendant was the same in both: the Nugent Care Society.

In respect of St Aidan’s, there are no victims as Core Participants and currently tehre is only the Royal Sun & Alliance (RSA). The Chief Constable of Cheshire Constabulary has not applied for core participant status, he has made it clear that Cheshire Police will co-operate fully with the investigation and seek to provide any relevant material.

We would encourage any victims and survivors from St Aidan’s who wish to be core participants or witnesses to come forward.

In respect of St Vincent’s, a total of 3 core participants are directly associated with this case study: one victim/survivor, RSA, and Merseyside Police.
Howe+Co are seeking to identify new cases.
