If during your employment you operated vibratory tools, and you are now experiencing pain and discolouration of your fingers, then you may be suffering from Vibration White Finger (VWF). If you are diagnosed with this condition, you may be entitled to compensation.
The operation of vibratory tools is the main cause of this condition. These tools will include air-driven tools, large drills, grinders, sanders, strimmers, and road breakers (also known as jigger picks). Basically, any tools that create a vibration when used. Symptoms to watch for will be coldness in the fingers, numbness, tingling, and pain in the fingers. This will be especially prevalent in cold weather. If you are suffering from any of these symptoms, then you may be suffering from VWF, and are entitled to compensation.
