Things to keep in mind when traveling with your eVisa

Your eVisa will be used to verify whether you have the right to travel when travelling internationally or to travel to the UK.

Before traveling internationally, it is important to clearly check whether your current passport or travel document is linked to your eVisa. Otherwise, you may face unnecessary delays.

To update your passport or travel document linked to your eVisa, go here:

To make your travel easier and more convenient, don’t forget to update your passport or travel document information whenever it changes. Your eVisa will be automatically checked during your trip, so the details on the eVisa and the documents you are carrying must match.

You can make your travel easier by getting a Share Code before you travel, writing it down in a safe place, printing it out, and carrying it with you or keeping it in your passport. Once you get a Share Code, it is valid for 90 days, so you can get it from your e-Visa account before you travel.

BRP cards expiring on or after 31 December 2024 will remain valid as proof of permission to travel in the UK until the end of March 2025, so you should carry your expired BRP with you when travelling.

If you do not have a BRP or have never been issued one, your travel authorization will be checked in other ways.
