Those who served after 1987 Former Gurkha soldiers if hearing loss is detected they are receiving compensation. Don't be late.

If you have served in the British Army since 1987, you can claim compensation if you have hearing loss.

We at Howe+Co Solicitors have reached an agreement with the MOD that if your hearing test shows that you have hearing loss, you will be provided with compensation without a court process.

This agreement is only valid until January 2026.

After that, if you want to claim compensation, you may have to go to court.

Your ringing in the ears and hearing loss may be due to your long service life, lack of ear protection equipment, or exposure to loud or noisy weapons, explosions, and vehicles.

Howe+Co Solicitors which since 2004, in collaboration with various other Gurkha organizations and activists such as Joanna Lumley, has been successful in achieving significant victories in cases related to British residence visas for Gurkha and their families, is now pursuing cases for compensation for injuries or losses caused by service that have affected their standard of living even after they have served honestly and retired.

We are currently helping Gurkha ex-servicemen, along with thousands of other ex-servicemen, claim compensation for hearing loss and tinnitus caused by the use of weapons. Gurkhas have also been found to have suffered hearing loss due to inadequate protective equipment during their service.

We will claim compensation for your hearing loss and tinnitus, as well as the cost of any digital equipment that is deemed necessary. If you were forced to leave service early or your hearing loss made it difficult to find employment, loss of income, or other benefits after your military service, this may also be included in your compensation claim.

This means that the compensation for this type of claim could be thousands of pounds.

To be able to claim, you must have served after May 1 1987 and have been exposed to the use of a weapon or explosion. For example, if you enlisted in 1984 and left service in 1999, you can only claim compensation for 12 years of service.

Howe+Co Solicitors are here to help you when you are ready. We will arrange for you to be assessed by a fully qualified and experienced hearing specialist to make a claim. We have testing centres across the country. If you pass the test, we can then register your claim with the MOD.

Until recently, MOD was fighting against these claims, but after recent talks with MOD, we are pleased to announce that MOD has reached a settlement agreement with us.

One clause in this agreement is that veterans must file their compensation claims by January 31, 2026.

We currently have over 400 Gurkha ex-servicemen’s claims in the process. Hundreds of other Gurkha ex-servicemen can also benefit from this agreement.

We have also formed a legal entity so that former soldiers in Nepal can file compensation claims with us from within Nepal.

This service is completely free, and we aim to benefit as many Gurkha ex-servicemen as possible.

If you would like to make a claim for compensation of this nature, please contact Mark Collins or Prakash Rana on 02088404688, law@howe.co.uk.
